I've had a posting on dogs lost site today that I am following up though.
I'm just blown away by how kind people are being and just how many people are helping with the search for Sal, it's been 3 weeks now but we are still hard at it.

We have had two possible sightings of Sally on Sunday 24 August. One couple stopped at our house in response to the huge board outside the house to say that they had seen an old black dog looking quite matted and tired near Baumber, Lincs on A158. We went out to look but no luck. We think that there is definately one lost old black dog somewhere in this neighbourhood because this is the 3rd sighting in last 10 days. Because..........
the other lead was posted on the Lost Dog site, this was of an older black dog on the A157 just north of Wragby near West Barkwith (only few miles from Baumber!!) but this person thought that a red Sierra car stopped to pick the dog up.
Here's hoping we find that this is Sally or at least that we find whatever dog keeps cropping up locally

no news on Sal but we've just had a car stop at our house with a stray picked up to see if it was her. I was so disappointed it wasn't I feel such a fool for not taking photo of the dog to help find its owner.
It was picked up on the A158 about 3 miles north of Horncastle in the direction of Louth, in the middle of nowhere it just walked out into the road and basically made this car stop to pick it up!
Very scruffy and dirty. Looks like some kind of large border terrier cross (perhaps with thread of yorkshire terrier as well), very friendly, brown and beige with quite long wirey hair.
The contact of the person picking up the dog is

they will contact the RSPCA and dog warden of Lincoln
I've told them to contact me if they can't find anyone to take the dog in as I am happy to shelter it here until reunited with owner.

I checked this out in case it was Princess, the guy said the dog had a thick black collar on if that helps anyone.
