Whilst we are very happy that both dogs have now returned to their former owner and are being cared for the owners have been left with a horrendous vets bill and face a bill of Thousands to restore both dogs back to health. Both dogs escaped from the adopters home and were struck by a car. Randy has suffered damage to his face/ a fracture to his eyesocket and has some brain damage. Sandy has severe fractures to her front leg with the possibility of amputation or metal plates. Their insurance was cancelled when the new owner took over the care of the dogs. . I have spoken to owners and feel that in their given circumstances that an Appeal should be made as they have my upmost respect in taking both dogs back home to care for them and the time and effort in finding Sandy
If you feel that you would like to help Randy and Sandy. Please send any donations to

Thanks everyone. Sandy's going for her x-rays tomorrow at 9.00am. We'll know exactly how much the operation will cost after that. Will keep you updated.

We just brought Sandy back from the hospital. Her x-rays have revealed that she's got a nasty break to her leg. It's a couple of centimetres above her wrist joint and will definitely need a special 'T' plate to fix it properly. So, it's going to be over £2000. We paid £405 today for her anesthesia, x-rays and hospital stay. We contacted the Celia Hammond Animal Trust, which indicated they might be able to do it cheaply. The operation needs to be done asap because she's been walking/running with her broken leg for several days now and she must be in agony . I'll let you know if we hear anything from Celia Hammond. Thanks for putting up the appeal. We really do need all the help we can get.

Sandy's x-rays. We just had a look at Sandy's x-rays and it looks quite nasty. Poor Sandy. She must be in so much pain.

We're putting the eye ointment twice a day. It's getting a bit better but he's still slow. He has to put a bit of effort to breath and sometimes just circles around us. He must be confused and scared still. Will take a long time for him to get back to his normal self. Gets really scared when we take him to the vet.

Dear all, we finally have a bit of good news after this awful week. I got really frustrated trying to call that man who adopted our lovely dogs and left them in this bad situation. He didn't answer his calls and finally switched off his mobile. Tried ringing his landline as well and left messages but no answer. So, I went to his home this evening and rang his bell. He answered and I told him he needs to come out as we need to speak about the vet bills. He gave sorry excuses for not answering, even saying that he lost his mobile! I told him we really can't afford the vet bills and have already paid over £1200. He said he'd send me a cheque, but I asked him to write one for me now while I was there as we need to get Sandy's operation done asap. Sandy was in pain today and we feel really sad that we couldn't afford to get the operation done sooner. Anyway, after much talk, he finally gave me a cheque for £1000. I felt good that we were able to get something out from him, but I told him that this is not even half of the money that we need to treat. He was saying this should cover everything! Anyway not sure if we could get anymore from him. At least we now have some money that we could give to the vet and ask for some time to pay back the rest.
Thank you all for trying to raise funds for the bills. Really need to get Sandy's operation done on Monday or Tuesday as we can see that her pain is increasing. Will update you all when we hear from call Celia Hammond on Monday.
