Dogs being banned in Ireland!!
« on: July 24, 2007, 02:32:00 PM »

Dublin City Council has recently banned 11 breeds of dogs from all of their properties. Read on.......
English Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, German Shepherd (Alsatian), Doberman, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Japanese Akita, Bull Mastiff, Japanese Tosa, Bandog.  Crossbreeds of any of the above are also affected.

ALL BANNED from Dublin City Council properties!

The council feel they are taking steps to remove all dangerous dog breeds.  This is after complaints from tenants and because of the legal implications should an attack take place in one of its properties.  The ban initially applies to council housing and public areas within council estates. The council also plans to amend its by-laws to include public parks in the ban.

The council has given all tenants the opportunity to rehome their dogs, however if no alternative accomodation can be found for the dogs, they will have to be destroyed.

Breed specific legislation will not just remain in Dublin, it will eventually pave its way across the waters to other countries. You can stop this discrimination against our dogs. Sign the online petition now!

Ban the deed, not the breed.
