My wife and I would love to help foster. My Aunt Yvonne does it in Maidstone and the cases we read about on here are so sad but we have cats and sadly both work.
So we help by donating money and food etc...
Perhaps one day when one or both of us are at home all day!

Last Chance and its delicate pups, kittens, new mums, mums to be, elderly and poorly animals etc. owe a big thank you to our fosterers. For without a second thought it seems, they regularly welcome into their homes our more needy cases, and offer that 'one to one' attention that really does make such a huge difference to the more vulnerable dogs, cats & rabbits that come our way.
Of course Last Chance has a strict neutering policy and we ensure that all animals applicable at the centre are neutered. We also ensure all puppies and kittens leaving us are neutered at the appropriate age. Sadly many female animals that arrive at our doors from irresponsible, uncaring owners are already pregnant and faced with this situation we are so thankful for our fosterers.
It is so vital in many cases to get an animal into a home as soon as is possible to aid a speedy, happy ending to what is to so many a very traumatic period in their lives.
If you feel you are able to offer your home and love to a animal in need please contact us. It isn't essential to have experience in many cases, full support will be available from Last Chance and all Veterinary and other costs will be covered by the Charity.

That is absolutly brill But the pros to fostering are seeing a terrified dog slowly responding to the love & care that you give. To have them finally bring their tail out from tucked under their legs & even a little wag. To get them to take a treat from you instead of having to throw it at them. To get them to enjoy going for a walk. To teach them to trust again. To stand sobbing at the door as you wave good bye to them as they go to their new forever homes & to get photos and phone calls about their continual progress. Fostering is hard at times but oh sooooooooo rewarding. The day I dont cry when my fosters go is the day I shall stop as that will be the day when they are just another dog & not part of my life. P.S. I do foster & have fostered to date 6 dogs that were on the PTS list as they were branded unhomable & I do work full time. I make time before & after work, but more importantly I have very good neighbours who for various reasons dont or cant have their own dogs & queue up to take them put during the day or to just sit & socialise with them. Plus all my permanant residents were all rescue cruelty cases & I think that sometimes helps another traumatised dog as they appear to sympathise and help them. Good luck if you do foster & a big thank you to all of you out there that already spend hours coaxing a dog out from under a bed, walk around with a mop as a new extension to your arm, or crawling on all fours with a toy in your mouths We need you.
