Ben
« on: October 16, 2007, 05:30:33 PM »

Oh wow, what a stunning boy!
Ben is an 11 year old long haired German Shepherd who has come into Oldies Club care as his owners have had to go overseas.

As you can see from the photo above, Ben has a stunning long coat which requires regular deep grooming in order to keep his handsome good looks in tact.

This is a summary of what Ben’s foster carer has told us about him:
“Ben is a very laid back dog. He just loves to play ball, fetching it and dropping it at your feet. He really enjoys his walks too. He’s good on lead and generally good with his recall, however if off lead he will run up to other dogs and stir trouble unless they have been introduced first!

Ben travels well in the car and has no problems when visiting the vets - he’s as good as gold. The rest of the time he likes to lie in his bed. On his first night here he didn’t make a sound and, for a Shepherd, he is generally quiet. He has only barked at other dogs on walks and when he knows he is going out for a walk.
Ben would fit into a family with other dogs, providing introduced to his new housemates properly first. He would also be fine as an only dog. He cannot be rehomed with a cat as he does chase them. He would be better in a home where any children are older.”

Ben has been vet checked and he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. He does have problems with his front paws in that they are tender, and his nails need to be regularly trimmed.
He is currently in an Oldies Club foster home in Milton Keynes. If you would like to find out more about him, please contact Liz, the Oldies Club’s rehoming co-ordinator as follows:
Telephone: 01603 405 951
Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Ben can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit
