Gemma
« on: October 16, 2007, 05:45:25 PM »

Gemma is an 8 year old intelligent little Collie X. Gemma’s a petite, knee-height, light-framed girl - a real babe! She is in an Oldies Club foster home in Pontypool, Wales.
Gemma is such a dream of a girl. She is a friendly and affectionate and gets on well with everyone she meets. Gemma can live with other dogs and older children.

Gemma enjoys having company and would love a home with people who can offer her plenty of time and attention. When she first arrived in her foster home she was unsettled when left and would bark - understandable given that she had just been brought from her former loving home and couldn’t understand why she was now in a strange place. However, now that she’s settled in she’s a lot calmer as she knows that her foster family are going to come back to her

Gemma walks well on the lead but occasionally decides to sit down and not move. She obviously has worked out her own route and where her foster carer wants to take her is not where she wants to go! At times like this you have to be a bit firm with her and then she’s fine!
Gemma used to be an only-dog but she is really enjoying the company of the other dogs in her foster home and they play well together.

Here’s a bit more information from Gemma’s foster carer:

“She’s good with her food and eats at the same time as the other dogs with no problems. She likes her toys but prefers to chew on them rather than play catch.
She has her own bed in the dinning room, but in the evenings she has a thick blanket on the floor in the lounge but as soon as your back’s turned she’s trying to get on the sofa!
She seems OK with our rabbits but a bit unsure about the guinea pigs. She is nervous of thunder and bangs and likes to hide under the table or in small spaces.
Gemma also travels well in the car. She likes to travel in the passenger footwell, so when you have stopped at lights, she can be petted!”

Gemma has been vet checked and is in good health. She is, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated,
worm and flea treated.

Gemma is in an Oldies Club foster home in Pontypool. If you would like to find out more about her, please contact Liz, the Oldies Club’s rehoming co-ordinator as follows:
Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk Telephone: 01603 405 591
Gemma can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit.
