Dear Debbie,
Excellent work.  I will put the letters on my stall at all the fetes I am attending for the public to pass on to their vets etc.
Margaret Green and The Kennel Club, Bournemouth Canine Association are supportive of this.
Onward and upward as they say.
Love

Dear Jess,
We should have letters ready next week, maybe I can email them to you.
What dates do you need them by?
Well done and thank you.

Thanks Debbie for everything that you are doing to draw publicity to dog theft and microchipping. Justine

I would just like to say, that if scanning was done on each and every dog that came into contact with a vet, then Alfie would be home now. Justine

If only it could be done there would be so many dogs and owners re-united. There'd be mass ecstacy. Chris

Hi, i have just recently found your site and am amazed by the amount of support you are all giving each other here. Anything i can do to help i most certainly will try.
I was stunned when we took our dog to a new vets. We were asked if he was chipped and we said yes, but no attempt was made to check this out.
I even asked the vet if he automatically scanned new dogs - NO! Angry
Now, ive been lucky enough to not have had a dog go missing for more than a 2 hour jaunt down the road, so in theory why should it matter to me what the vet does? Well, you never know what may happen do you? Dogs have minds of their own as ours more than proved when she went over the gate of at our new house!! (we made the gate higher after that!!) You never know if your dog is going to take the fancy of some passing erm.....person.
So, next chance i get i will most certainly be requesting vets scan new patients as second nature just to be on the safe side.

I really hope and pray that all of you with missing animals soon have them returned to you, and i admire each of your determination and efforts of encouragement that you all hand out to others in a similar position!

Welcome to the site Michelle.
Your comment about what your vet recently said to you just about sums up the problem that needs to be overcome. Some vets are keen to find out whether your dog has been chipped not because they are concerned about the safety & welfare of the animal but whether or not they can get more money out of us all.
This way of thinking needs to be changed & soon.

Hi Michelle

It would be brilliant if you can print off and send to your local vets our awareness
poster and letter at the start of this topic, the more we spread the word around about this the more pressure we can get put on the vets and alike.
