On Saturday 8th July, my parents had one of their Jack Russells stolen from their home. They live on the borders of Upper Cumberworth and Birdsedge in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Their home runs alongside the main A629 Sheffield to Huddersfield road and Holly and her mate Digger used to spend much of their day sitting on the wall, watching the traffic and people go past. Holly is a 7 year old, neutered, non-working, wire-haired terrier. My parents live on an 8 acre small holding and Holly and her mate Digger, have the run of the land from early morning until late evening and have never ventured past their boundaries. We've tried taking them for walks but they refuse to go as they won't leave my parents boundaries!! Unfortunately, because they don't leave the home, we never saw reason to have them chipped - not thinking that people stole dogs!! Holly went missing between 5.30pm and 8pm on the 8th. Since then, we've listed her disappearance on various lost dog websites, on the Earth Dog Running Dog website (you never know, somebody may try selling her as a working terrier), we've contacted local kennels, vets, dog wardens, animal rescue shelters, put posters on lamp posts and done a door to door leaflet drop in the nearby villages, I've even gone through search engines looking for emails of anybody I think may be able to help and sent them a photo and the details! There's been a working terrier show today which was held at Harden Moss, Holmfirth so we went there to distribute leaflets! I've also contacted the Huddersfield Daily Examiner newspaper and they've agreed to do a story and include a photo of Holly (hopefully that will go in Monday's paper). I have attached a photograph of Holly and wondered whether you could enter Holly's details onto your site? I know it probably sounds cheeky but we really feel as though there's little more we can do in terms of who else can help. As you can probably imagine, we're desperate to get Holly back. We are also offering a substantial reward.

Well, we've not had a sighting, phone call or any information what so ever!! Good news though - the Huddersfield Daily Examiner have done a 1/3 of a page feature about Holly's disappearance so let's hope somebody comes forward when they realise we're offering a reward!!!
Been to Cliffe Kennels at Hoylandswaine today and there were 3 or 4 beautiful terriers in there amongs lots of other breeds who are obviously being missed by somebody somewhere!! Ended up in tears

Well, Holly was in the paper on Monday and, as yet, we haven't heard anything. Just hope people will remember Holly's pretty face and, if she does get spotted anywhere, they'll contact us. We've got everything crossed x

Sometimes it takes a while before people make the connection. I'm sure people will remember her face. She's a real beauty. Chris

There's been a possible sighting of Holly since our newspaper article about her disappearance on Monday.
A lady contacted me from a village approx. 5 miles away to say she'd seen a dog roaming the village on Tuesday and again today. The dog stood out because it's very unusual to see any dogs roaming. The only thing was, the dog was wearing a collar and Holly wasn't when she disappeared. I'm wondering whether somebody at some point in the past 11 days has taken her in and put a collar on her and she's escaped?
Been to the village twice today and handed posters out and put them up in the main store and will be going back tomorrow with a fresh supply of posters!!! Fingers crossed xx
