Staffie - young brindled male un-neutered

I found this Staffie in my street. He's brindled with some small white patches, and is intact. (Dog Control checked - not me!)
The dog looked fierce but once I spoke to him he wagged his tail and seemed delighted to have been found and for someone take care of him!
I borrowed a lead from a neighbour and persuaded a guy working on neighbour's house to keep an eye on the Staffie in my front yard while I called Wandsworth Dog Control.
They have contacted me today to say that,"The dog was microchipped but alas all the contact details registered with the national data base were old. The dog was taken to Battersea Dogs Home where it was recognised from its chip number. It had been brought in 2 weeks ago by the Metropolitan police. The dogs home were going to be contacting the owner with regards to reuniting the two."
I hope this will help someone as the dog was very obedient, biddable and friendly. He's well fed and in good condition. Someone probably loves him I hope.
