Black poodle unfortunately deceased Wallington Surrey
« on: April 30, 2008, 08:14:55 PM »

I would like to say that i unfortunately found a deceased dog this morning on my round (i'm a postwoman) It was a black poodle curled up in a ball at the kerb side of Manor Road, Wallington - i called sutton council and they said someone will be there within in the hour, i couldn't wait unfortunately but they did come(i checked after i had finished and the dog was gone) i also asked a passer-by and they confirmed it, as they lived close by
just thought i would inform anyone on here of my findings.

I am poppys mum. I have rung the council, and they say they did not receive any reports of dead dogs in this area, and that they did not collect her. Could you please post some more details, which property it was outside etc. Did you notice if the dog was wearing a collar on, and whether it had any white markings. Was its hair long or short etc.
thanks

Have recontacted finder and one way is to go there when this postwoman does her rounds, Manor road Wallington, usually postmen do the same rounds daily, Sadly councils can be poor in keeping records of dogs found like this as we all well know. We hope this is not Poppy but until this can be sorted out owner must continue to poster and keep up hope .

From poppys mum
The council insist that they only picked up one dead dog that day, and it was a different area completely, and the lady spoke to the person who does this job. Also contacted sorting office in Wallington where posties are based, and no-one there knows anything about this. Also have not been contacted by the person, even though emails have been sent. So until proved otherwise, we are not taking this seriously.
