Perhaps before they put the poor dogs to sleep they should have let them loose on him. Preferably with his legs firmly tied. Sorry, I'm not normally for violence, but this sort of thing makes me so angry and I'd just like them to go through the same agony the dogs had to go through. Chris

I dont think i want to watch the video but i heard about this earlier it is so terrible there are some sick people around.
I also see tonight on the local south east London news about a man in his twenties who cut the tips of his puppy SBT ears to make him look hard and mean. The RSPCA found out and found the tips in a glass jar. He has been banned from owning a dog for 10 years and has been given 200 hours community service.
The dog has now gone to a good loving home where he has made a good recovery after his ordeal although he gets frighten if anyone goes to stroke behind his ears.
I am appalled by all that i have heard today (also see about Ozzie) what is going on in this country why are people so cruel? if only i could get my hands on these so called human beings i would like to inflict on them what they inflict on these animals, it is about time the justice system looked at the punishment they give to scum like these and given them the sentence they so deserve.

Absolutely!!
The thing that really got to me was in the video (it was on the news aswell) was these two guys each holding these dogs by the neck and 'egging' them on, but one was obviously smaller than the other and its tail was dead still, it was terrified, then when they release them the guy keeps kicking the little one who was quick obviously petrified. It is sickening isnt it!

It beggers belief what kick they get out of it, such a shame the dogs didn't turn on them and bitten things off which would have ruined the rest of their life.
Like Chris has said that i am not normally violent but when it comes to animals it is a whole different story.

Dogs, loving and true friends for life.

In 1991 I became a vegetarian because of all the cruelty that was being inflicted on animals, via various documentaries on the TV and on news programmes. I have to ask, why have people who are supposed to be intelligent beings, not learned that cruelty is wrong, it cheapens the human race, it harms our environment.
Why do some 'humans' think they have a god given right to harm and destroy animals? This is not why they are here, they are here for our enjoyment and companionship. And the punishment they get when caught? What punishment? You don't get punished in the UK unless you do something really bad, like break wind in the street. A paedophile was let off last week because he had faith in his religion or some such rubbish.
What is in those video clips after all the things I've seen over the years, though it sickens me it is no suprise because there are 'humans' in this world that are too sick to see there is a better way, that cruelty is not only inhumane, but wholly unjustifiable, and based entirely on greed.

How sick are those people? I had a lot of trouble watching that programme, I felt sick, angry, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh I'd love to give those dogs five minutes to give those perverts some of their own medicine. I'd love to see what they think of being torn to pieces like that. The trouble is though, with the british Justice system the way it is, if you do anything like that, if your caught the dogs get put to sleep and you get locked up, while they most likely get a fine and a suspended sentence. I mean we know that sort of thing goes on all over, but it just makes us all so angry. Even if a person gets banned from owning a dog, they can go straight from the court to some puppy farm where they ask no questions and continue the trip home from the court with a dog. Its totally ridiculous. I would have come back about this at the time the programme finished, but was so angry that the moderators would have had their work cut out removing the swearing.

Paisley call for dog law review The Spotlight team filmed dog fights using undercover cameras The Republic of Ireland must tighten up its dog licensing laws, First Minister Ian Paisley has said. His call followed an investigation into dog fighting and the illegal trade in the animals by the BBC's Spotlight.
The programme showed how the dogs were being smuggled into Northern Ireland through the Irish Republic.
"It is clear that the Irish Republic's law on the licensing of dogs is being exploited to forward this outrageous activity," he added.
"All who saw those pictures will have been horrified by the vicious and grotesque scenes."
Speaking after talking to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, Mr Paisley said a review of legislation in the Republic would "go a long way in helping the authorities on both sides of the border to ensure the animal abuse is stopped".
Meanwhile, a man uncovered by Spotlight's investigation as the head of a dog fighting gang in County Armagh has been disowned by his family.
Stephen Barriskill was revealed as a co-founder of the Tandragee-based Farmers' Boys, a group involved in local and international dog fighting matches.
His son Jason said his family "thoroughly and unequivocally" wished to distance themselves from him.
The police said they were reviewing the footage featured on the Thursday night programme.
Farmers' Boys
The Farmers' Boys was infiltrated by Spotlight during a 17-month investigation. In total, it uncovered 15 illegal dog fighting gangs in Northern Ireland.
Five of those are based in Belfast and some of these groups have links to international dog fighting organisations.
The Spotlight team also found that Tyrone GAA star Gerard Cavlan is a major figure in the world of dog fighting.
In a statement, he said: "I would like to again unreservedly apologise to my family, all of my friends, supporters and colleagues in the GAA for any disappointment or distress that they have felt arising our of events reported."
