Justine, I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy.
I only met him a few times but he was very healthy, contented and calm when I saw him. You wouldn't have known that he'd ever been in a kennel, he was so 'at home.'

Justine, I am so very sorry to see your darling Buddy has gone to Rainbow Bridge. You gave him a wonderful home and all the love he could ask for and more and I am sure he gave it back to you. He went to the Bridge a much loved and treasured dog rather than an unwanted one left in a kennel. You are such a kind woman making the lives of these poor babies so much happier until the end of their days. Our thoughts are with you. x

So Sorry Justine. You did your very best for Buddy. He was a very lucky dog to have had you as a mum & you to have had him. God Bless xx Lisa

Hi everybody,
Jasper, my colleague at the Lady Dane Veterinary Centre in Faversham saw and treated Buddy but sadly had to put him to sleep.
Buddy developed a perineal hernia. A perineal hernia is a weakness of the muscle around the anus and rectum. This usually causes a harmless bulge of tissue around the anus. On this occasion, unfortunately, Buddy's bladder got stuck into the hernia.
Jasper catheterised the bladder to inject some contrast into it. A radiograph then allowed visualisation of the bladder into the hernia and allowed a definitive dagnosis.
The incarceration of an internal organ (gut, bladder) into a hernia is often very bad news: the blood supply of the incarcerated organ is shut and very shortly, the organ starts to necrose.
For poor old Buddy, it was too late.
Fate has been cruel for Justine lately and she has all my prayers for a better future.
Love, Julien
